Good Cause platform terms

Operator

Good Cause is operated by Webfit Solutions Limited and is a Webfit News initiative. Good Cause is a fundraising platform, not itself the beneficiary of every campaign and not a registered charity unless explicitly stated otherwise.

User responsibility

Campaign owners must provide truthful, lawful and current information and have authority to create the campaign and nominate the beneficiary.

Approval

Good Cause can request evidence, refuse publication, suspend contributions, remove content or withhold payout where verification, safety, fraud, legal, provider or policy concerns exist.

Fees

The platform service fee is 2.5% of each contribution. Actual payment-processing costs are also deducted. Other costs such as refunds, disputes or provider adjustments may affect net proceeds where applicable.

Contributions

A contribution is made toward the stated campaign purpose. Good Cause does not guarantee a fundraising outcome or that circumstances will remain unchanged.

Contributor details and privacy

Good Cause collects contributor name, email address, mobile number and payment information needed to process and record the contribution. Contributors may choose to hide their name on the public campaign activity display. This privacy choice does not make the payment anonymous to Good Cause or its payment providers.

Receipts and tax

Good Cause issues a contribution receipt after successful payment. A Good Cause receipt confirms the payment transaction but does not promise that the contribution qualifies for a tax credit. Eligibility depends on the relevant beneficiary, donee status and applicable New Zealand tax rules.

Payouts

Funds are paid only through the approved payment architecture to verified payees. Good Cause may hold funds while required checks or disputes are unresolved.

Liability and law

These terms are governed by New Zealand law. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
