How contributions, fees and payouts are handled
This page explains how Good Cause handles contributions, fees, receipts and payouts.
Contribution amount
The contributor chooses an amount from NZ$1 and pays the amount shown at checkout.
Platform fee
Good Cause deducts a 2.5% platform service fee from the contribution.
Processing costs
The actual applicable payment-provider processing cost is deducted separately from the contribution.
Net campaign proceeds
The remaining amount is allocated to the campaign, subject to refunds, chargebacks, reserves, verification, provider adjustments and lawful deductions.
Contribution receipts
After successful payment confirmation, Good Cause sends a numbered contribution receipt to the email address supplied by the contributor. The receipt confirms payment received through Good Cause. It does not by itself establish eligibility for a New Zealand donation tax credit.
Public donor name
Contributors can choose to hide their name publicly. Where that option is selected, public campaign activity shows Anonymous supporter while Good Cause retains the contributor's details privately for payment, receipt and record-keeping purposes.
Payouts
Payout timing depends on successful payment settlement, verification and campaign review. No payout is made to an unverified payee.
