Why a $1 minimum is allowed
We want supporters to be able to contribute at any level. On small card donations, fixed payment-processing charges represent a larger proportion of the donation. We therefore show the estimated fee impact clearly rather than imposing an artificially high minimum.
Payment-processing costs
Good Cause does not intend to subsidise payment-provider fees from its own platform fee. The actual applicable processing cost is deducted from the donation. Rates vary by payment method, card origin, currency conversion and any pricing agreed with our payment provider.
GST
Good Cause will describe and account for GST in accordance with the operator's actual GST status and New Zealand tax requirements. The site must not describe a fee as including GST unless GST is properly applicable and being accounted for.
