How personal information is handled

Good Cause collects information reasonably needed to operate, secure and verify the platform, subject to New Zealand privacy law.

Donor information

When you make a contribution, Good Cause collects your name, email address, mobile number, contribution details and payment references. Your email address is used to send your contribution receipt and important payment communications. Your mobile number may be used where reasonably required for payment, fraud-prevention, support or verification purposes.

Public donor privacy

You may choose to hide your name publicly when contributing. If selected, the public campaign activity will identify the latest contribution as coming from an Anonymous supporter. Your name and contact details remain recorded privately for payment, receipt, accounting, fraud-prevention and legal purposes and are not shown publicly.

Fundraiser and beneficiary information

Good Cause may collect account and contact details, campaign information, identity and verification information, beneficiary information, bank and payout details, device and security data, communications, supporting evidence and reports.
