Fees
Good Cause keeps 2.5% of each donation and the donor pays the card fee, so the cause receives 97.5%. Givealittle’s help page states a 5% service fee including GST, with donors paying 1.5% on card donations (checked 29 September 2026). On a $20 card donation, the cause receives $19.50 on Good Cause and $19.00 on Givealittle. The donor pays $20.86 on Good Cause and $20.30 on Givealittle.
Verification
Every Good Cause campaign is reviewed by a person before it can accept donations, including checks on the fundraiser, the beneficiary and the bank account.
When Givealittle may suit you better
Givealittle is larger and well known, and it offers features Good Cause does not yet have, such as regular giving. If those matter most to you, it may be the better fit.
When Good Cause may suit you better
If you want more of each donation to reach the cause, a person reviewing your campaign, and direct contact with a small New Zealand team, Good Cause is worth considering.
